I have a Nikon Ai-s 85mm f1.4 manual focus lens for quite some time now. I use this lens for video (with the Letus Extreme 35mm adapter) and with my Nikon D300s DSLR. It’s a beautiful lens, very robust, very sharp and I like the bokeh very much. For more information about this lens read Ken Rockwell’s review.
A couple of days ago we went for a walk and I took my camera along with the 85mm f1.4 and an AF-S 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens. I took two pictures with the 18-135mm lens but put it in my bag after that and only used the 85mm.
Taking pictures takes a bit more effort with the manual focus lens but the results are so much more pleasing to the eye. See below for some of the pictures I took.
